Student Involvement

Student Sustainability Committee

The Student Sustainability Committee is responsible for allocating two student fees: the $2/semester Clean Energy Technology fee and the $5 Sustainable Campus Environment fee. Campus administration and Facilities & Services work with the students to implement their approved projects.

Student Projects

Projects receiving funding include:

  • Energy audit and lighting retrofits for the Illini Union
  • Biodiesel initiative to convert waste vegetable oil to diesel fuel
  • Photovoltaic array and green roof for the Business Instructional Facility
  • Lighting retrofits for the Waste Management Research Center
